Technology is improving. There are websites and apps out there that make it EASY to get your work out there and sold without you having to do your own promotion.
Basically, you can enjoy what you do which is taking photos and then you can go to these low-commitment sites and submit work whenever you feel like it.

1. Apps That Pay You to Take Photos
EyeEm - Download Eye. They are looking for all sorts of stock photos. People like me who own a blog may need it for a blog post. If I purchase your work through the app. You get 50% and the rest goes to the company. It's not too bad considering they do all the promotion on their platfrom. You just upload and go!
Foap - Foap actually has a "section" called mission. In there, they describe the type of photos they are looking to feature on their website. You can then go out with that in mind and take pictures. However, it's not necessary to take photos that they recommended. They'll take all sorts of photos as long as they are nice. The key take away is if you bring them exactly what they want, they'll pay you more!
miPic - The con to miPic is that they only support Iphone users. However, the app is amazing. You may find your photos on a product in stores. They put huge important in the quality of your photo. It needs to potentially look good on a shirt or maybe a coffee mug.You will residual income for product sales with your design on it.
2. Sell Stock Photos
Stock photos are usually generic. People who may own a big blog may want to avoid being copywritten by including someone elses images on their website.
So they may go to a website offering stock photos and pay for the right to use a particular image.
So, What Type of Images Should You Be Taking?
The key to making this work is knowing what stock websites want. The last thing you want to do is put all of your time into taking photos just for them to not perform well.
First off, think simple...

- ShutterStock - They have a huge customer base. This is important. Users on their website search up a keyphrase of what they are looking for within a photo. Each time someone finds your photo and hits download, your going to be getting paid. It's that EASY.
- Adobe Stock - They are not much different. If anything, it's just another place to add your work for even more exposure and earning potential.
- Snapped4U - This site is looking for a little more spice. Like people having an amazing time at a wedding or a happy social gathering. I definitely recommend giving them a visit to get a feel for what they are looking for in stock images.
Are You Ready to Start Selling Photos?
I'm sure you know this already but quality is everything! You can use your phone in most cases, mainly for the apps that pay in terms of quality. But you may need a really good camera for the other websites.
